Slow Through the City

Kitty May - Slow Through the City Arrives

Slow Through the City

We’re rolling slow through town, wind in our hair,
Sara laughs out loud, Cammy smiles — yeah, we know why we’re here.
Josie’s checking out the guy in the Toyota, still not sure what she wants,
I lean back, take it easy — everybody looks good if you don’t rush.

’Cause I know I can get who I want,
Nobody’s too good, nobody’s wrong — we’re all just out tonight.
I’m here for the feeling, letting it build,
So who am I taking home tonight?
Haven’t decided yet… let it ride.

Sara and Peter, yeah, they got their own little thing,
But I’m still cruising, seeing who’s leaning in.
Josie flirts easy, playing it cool,
I watch her smile — we all got something different to prove.

That’s how it goes, flirting all night, no pressure at all,
We test the vibe, see who’s gonna fall.
I catch the guy in the Toyota, yeah, he knows his charm,
But Danny knows his way around — hard not to feel his arms.

’Cause I know I can get who I want,
Nobody’s too good, nobody’s wrong — we’re all just out tonight.
I’m here for the feeling, letting it build,
So who am I taking home tonight?
Haven’t decided yet… let it ride.

And I…
I know what I’m here for, don’t need to say it out loud,
We’re just killing the hours, moving slow through the crowd.
I’ll choose when I choose, till then I’m fine,
Nothing’s locked in — tonight is still mine.

’Cause I know I can get who I want,
Nobody’s too good, nobody’s wrong — we’re all just out tonight.
I’m here for the feeling, letting it build,
So who am I taking home tonight?
Haven’t decided yet… let it ride.

Who gets to ride with me when the night runs out?
Yeah… we’ll see.

Watching Them Roll

They’re rolling slow through town, wind in their hair,
I hear Sara laughing, Cammy smiling — yeah, I see why they’re here.
Kitty’s looking my way from the backseat, like she’s not sure what she wants,
I stay where I am, take it easy — letting the moment stretch out long.

She knows she can get who she wants,
Nobody’s too good, nobody’s wrong — it’s written all over the night.
She’s not in a hurry, she’s letting it build,
So who’s she taking home tonight?
She hasn’t decided yet… I can tell.

I see Sara with Peter, yeah, they got their own little thing,
But she’s still cruising, eyes moving, letting the tension swing.
Josie leans in, flirting easy, playing it cool,
I watch them laugh — every move feels deliberate, every rule feels loose.

That’s how it goes, they flirt all night, no pressure at all,
They test the vibe, see who’s standing tall.
I catch my reflection in the Chevy’s chrome
And Danny’s close enough to feel her heat — but she’s still not going home.

She knows she can get who she wants,
Nobody’s too good, nobody’s wrong — it’s written all over the night.
She’s not in a hurry, she’s letting it build,
So who’s she taking home tonight?
She hasn’t decided yet… I can tell.

And I…
I know what they’re out for, no one’s pretending here,
Just killing the hours, letting want stay near.
She’ll choose when she chooses, till then she’s fine,
Nothing’s locked in — and that’s what keeps me in line.

She knows she can get who she wants,
Nobody’s too good, nobody’s wrong — it’s written all over the night.
She’s not in a hurry, she’s letting it build,
So who’s she taking home tonight?
She hasn’t decided yet… and neither have I.

I stay right here as the engine hums…

Maybe it’s me.
Maybe not.
We’ll see.
