Whispers of the Past

Whispers of the Past

I was born too small, a quiet kid,
Held back all the things I never did,
Lost inside my wandering mind,
A silent shadow, hard to find.

I moved around, a restless soul,
Always searching, trying to feel whole,
Friends were few, and none stayed long,
I learned to hide where I belonged.

Oh, those lost youth days fade away,
In memories that never stay,
I’m trying hard to find my way,
A silent voice I long to say.

First taste of smoke, borrowed time,
Summer nights with cheap red wine,
Dreams of more but trapped inside,
Wearing pain I tried to hide.

A fragile hope, a flicker bright,
In shadows deep, I fight the night,
Torn between what’s wrong and right,
Still searching for morning light.

Oh, those lost youth days fade away,
In memories that never stay,
I’m trying hard to find my way,
A silent voice I long to say.

Now I stand, at fifty’s door,
Looking back on life before,
Questions linger, silent cries,
Underneath these guarded eyes.

Softly fading, time moves on,
Echoes of my faded song,
Yet my heart still beats along,
Lost youth’s whisper, forever strong.
