Mother Mercy

She came down dressed in white and wine,
Crosses on her neck, and last night still on her mind.
Whispered prayers between the sheets,
Said sin tastes sweet if the body bleeds.
She traded grace for silver nails,
Confession’s closed, the faith derails.
Now she moves like smoke through the choir,
Half a saint, half funeral fire.

She said “Father, forgive me— I liked it too much.”
And the angels just laughed at the touch.

Mother Mercy, how you’ve fallen low,
Kissed the serpent, watched it grow.
You thought your veil could never stain,
Now even mercy feels in vain.

Your salvation’s gone insane.
